At a point on every acts career the dust settles and the noise begins to fade. You just don’t seem as appealing as you used to be. The quality of your music may have gone down or your success may have clogged your medulla long enough for you to begin to really suck.
This has been the case with wizkid, overnight today his in house producers put out a song titled Oh Baby featuring Efya and Wizkid… the way the song was so incredibly forgettable was sad. Almost like wizkid didn’t respect his fans enough to say look “this crap is not going out”. Please do not take this to mean that he doesn’t put out great music. He does a lot of times but that should never be an excuse to not care. He is falling off and it is quite obvious.
On to the problematic issue of Omo Baba Olowo, Davido I believe recognizes the limits of his talent. He buys the great songs and makes them his own. H e excels and trying really hard and so far it seems the doors his money has been able to open for him are all that is keeping him from falling off too. I expect he will continue to spend big and reap big while fellow act Wizkid will continue on his inevitable decline.
Money will not always buy the throne though, eventually a raw talented act will come along and render these two completely irrelevant. Laziness is not permitted because you get successful and working on yourself a bit will also go a long way as opposed to buying an image.
