A church service has been held in Ghana to celebrate the 2016/17 English Premier League title triumph of Chelsea and Sportsnetghana.com has the pictures to show.

Lauding the achievement of the London based club which endured a miserable run just the season before, Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Markwei preached the sermon under the theme ‘Learn to promote the success of others’ earlier today at the Living Streams International Church located behind Zenith College, Trade Fair, Accra.

“Fellowship with those who rejoice in your victory. They were 10th last year and we called them names thinking they can’t rise again but today here they are on top. With God nothing is impossible,” Rev. Markwei preached.

Chelsea have a massive following in Ghana where the English Premier League is keenly watched and rivalry among fans of other clubs is intense especially on match days.

Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City all boast huge fan basis in the country and victory by one club is a banter to make merry and denigrate fans of other clubs.

However Chelsea fans have taken it a notch higher by actually staging a church service to thank God for their title triumph. Not many believed it when the poster emerged some few weeks ago announcing the intended ceremony which invited supporters of other clubs to also come along.

Many thought it was another social media prank but it indeed came to pass with fans of other clubs actually showing up to congratulate and join in the Chelsea celebrations.
